Max Verstappen: I didn’t try to break any records

In 2023, Max Verstappen won a record number of 19 of the 22 races, becoming a three-time world champion. The Red Bull Racing driver thinks he will not have such an advantage next season, because his rivals will be able to improve

“If we evaluate the season realistically, it could not have gone better,” Racingnews365 quotes Max Verstappen. – But still, it’s not about trying to win twenty races, but about constantly looking for ways to improve yourself and make the car faster.

If we make the car even better next year and can fight for the title, but we only win ten races, that is also normal.

Last season our main opponents changed at almost every stage – first it was one team, next week it was another. I expect competition to be fiercer next year as opponents understand the regulations better.”

Max Verstappen added that he tried to enjoy every victory as there is no guarantee that the successful run will continue in the future: “Our team has won a lot this season, but I especially enjoyed working with everyone in the team.

If you win multiple races in a row, you naturally want to continue this streak, which brings extra pressure. I never set out to break any records, I just tried to do my best every weekend and have fun with it.

I understand that such successful series are quite rare, so the year turned out to be very good.”
