The stewards of the Austrian Grand Prix have imposed a delayed fine of 25 thousand euros on Sebastian Vettel.
As stated in the published decision, Vettel left the driver’s briefing on Friday without permission and expressed his displeasure at the meeting… Drivers of this level are role models and Vettel’s behavior is not up to standards.
Sebastian Vettel later met with the race director and “offered an unreserved apology, after which they had a constructive conversation, not just covering the topics covered during the riders’ briefing.
The stewards believe that such a violation cannot go unpunished, but given the extenuating circumstances mentioned in the race director’s report, the stewards have decided to impose a deferred fine of €25,000.
For repeated violations before the end of the 2022 season, paragraph 12.2.1 f) of the International Sports Code or paragraph 20.1 of the Formula 1 Sports Regulations, Sebastian Vettel will have to pay a fine.
