The race in Singapore was the only one of the season in which the Red Bull Racing drivers failed to win. Carlos Sainz won the city stage. The Spanish driver said this success has boosted Ferrari’s confidence that the team can challenge for top places in 2024 if they have a fast car at their disposal.
“That success influenced our year 100% because we didn’t have many chances to win,” said Carlos Sainz. “I consider the fact that we didn’t miss the opportunity and did our best in three practice sessions, qualifying and the race as a huge achievement. I’m not just talking about myself, but about the whole team. We have proven that we can win if we get the chance next year.
That weekend in Singapore we worked under enormous pressure because we knew we might have the only chance to win this year. Maybe there was an opportunity in Las Vegas, but we didn’t know it at the time.
The team did not succumb to the pressure and put all the pieces of the puzzle together that weekend. The result in Singapore showed that we can do a lot next year if we build a good car.”
