McLaren team leader Andrea Stella named the three strongest drivers currently competing in Formula 1. His list included two world champions, Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso, as well as Lando Norris.
In a conversation with DAZN, Stella spoke highly of not only Lando Norris, but also his partner Oscar Piastri: “Oscar is not only talented, but also very smart. His mental abilities are very high. And I can also say that Oscar is very calm behind the wheel.
Lando is already one of the best drivers in Formula 1. He is fast, can fight very well in races and has excellent tire control. If we give Lando a good car, he can fight for the title.”
When asked who he considers a versatile driver, Stella mentioned Fernando Alonso, with whom he worked at Ferrari: “He has no weaknesses. This is not to say that Fernando is the best in many respects, but he is strong in every respect.
The best drivers of modern Formula 1? Max, Lando and Fernando.”
