In 2023, 22 racers were at the start. After the British Grand Prix, Daniel Ricciardo replaced Nick de Vries at the wheel of the AlphaTauri. Ricciardo himself, who suffered a hand injury during training at Zandvoort, was replaced by Liam Lawson. Daniel returned to the wheel at the US Grand Prix in Austin.

Jack Douhan led two training sessions with Alpine – in Mexico City and in Abu Dhabi. On the same circuits, Theo Pourcher performed two free practice sessions with an Alfa Romeo, Frederic Vesti with a Mercedes and Oliver Berman with a Haas.
Robert Schwartzman returned to the wheel of Ferrari during the free practice sessions in Zandvoort and Abu Dhabi. Felipe Drugovich drove an Aston Martin during training in Monza and Abu Dhabi.
In the race, all drivers completed a total of 24,386 laps or 123,263 kilometers. During the season, the drivers completed 55,320 laps or 280,890 kilometers during free practice, qualifying, sprints and races.
The record holder for distance traveled was Carlos Sainz. The Ferrari driver completed 2,926 laps or 14,862 kilometers.
Liam Lawson completed the shortest distance among the drivers who started the race: 645 laps or 3,403 kilometers. Of the drivers who started all races, Kevin Magnussen had the shortest distance: 2,523 laps or 12,931 kilometers.
Ten drivers led the race: Max Verstappen (1,003 laps/4,912 kilometers), Sergio Perez (146 laps/868 kilometers), Carlos Sainz (77 laps/393 kilometers), Charles Leclerc (41 laps/209 kilometers), Lando Norris ( 30 laps/162 kilometers), Lewis Hamilton (13 laps/71 kilometers), George Russell (6 laps/32 kilometers), Yuki Tsunoda (5 laps/26 kilometers), Fernando Alonso (3 laps/18 kilometers) and Oscar Piastri ( 1 lap/6 kilometers).
Max Verstappen achieved the most victories – 19. Next to him, only Sergio Perez won – 2 times and Carlos Sainz – 1 time.
The fastest victory of the season was achieved in Monza. Max Verstappen took 1 hour 13 minutes and 41.143 seconds.

Max Verstappen became a three-time world champion, guaranteeing championship victory five rounds before the end of the season.

The Red Bull Racing team won the individual title for the seventh time in its history and the constructors’ championship for the sixth time. For the first time in history, the riders of the team from Milton Keynes took first and second place in the individual competition.
In his debut season, Oscar Piastri stood on the podium twice – in Japan and Qatar.
Lewis Hamilton continued his record run for the most career podium finishes – he now has 197. Fernando Alonso equaled Alain Prost.
