Wolff: I don’t want to wait until 2026

Representatives of many teams say it will be possible to overtake Red Bull only in 2026, if the regulations change, but Mercedes AMG head Toto Wolff is not willing to wait that long.

Toto Wolff: “I don’t know if Formula 1 can survive another year of Red Bull dominance. The figures we see now are impressive. The popularity on social networks is growing, the stands are full, but in reality it’s all about the spectacle, and if the spectacle is not so good, the fans will follow us less.

I always say that spectacle always follows sport, and that sport is a meritocracy. The person who does his job best wins, and if someone does his job much better, he wins 21 races and you can’t stop that.

We, Ferrari and all the other teams have to do a better job to compete with Red Bull and if we can’t change anything, people will say the result is clear. This happened to us and Lewis a few years ago, but now we just have to do better. I don’t want to wait until 2026.”
