Pirelli showed statistics at the end of the season about the maximum lap length on one set of tires. The most durable compounds were C2 and C3.
The heaviest composition C0, which appeared this year, was not used in racing, so it was decided to abandon it next season.
If we talk about slicks, the softest compound, C5, wears out the fastest – the longest distance on this tire was 102.051 km.
The hardest C1 tires used could cover a longer segment of 188,480 km, but the length of the segment was not related to wear and tear, but rather to the teams’ strategy.
With C4 tires we were able to cover an even longer distance: 212,730 km.
The most versatile and durable trains were C2 and C3 – more than three hundred kilometers in one segment.
If we talk about wet weather tires, then the longest distance on rain tires was 56.7 km, and on intermediate tires 103.8 km.
