On the eve of the winter holidays, the press service of Sauber, which took part in the World Championship in 2023 as Alfa Romeo, congratulated all media and all journalists who wrote about Formula 1. The congratulations were accompanied by a very bright postcard, on which we see the drivers and team leaders, depicted in the characteristic style in which the team’s posters, dedicated to the stages of the season, are designed.
Valtteri Bottas, Guanyu Zhou, as well as Theo Pourcher, reserve driver of Sauber and Formula 2 champion, are not difficult to recognize, but it is worth clarifying that the girl with a strange expression on the right side of the composition is Lena Bühler , a racer in the women’s F1 Academy series and a student of the Sauber Academy.
The gentleman wearing a Santa hat and brandishing a bottle of champagne is (apparently) Heavy Pujolar, the Swiss team’s chief racing engineer. At the end of the season he grew a mustache, which not everyone noticed. And next to him is Alessandro Alunni Bravi, the team representative – although the name of his position does not sound entirely specific, he occupies one of the leading positions in the Sauber hierarchy.
Now let’s quote the lyrics of the congratulations, which seem a little more pretentious than the modest 9th place that the team earns in the Constructors’ Championship, but as they say, you can’t erase the words from the song:
“As 2023 fades into history, we can look back with pride and satisfaction on another great season we had together at race tracks around the world and at our base. On this occasion, on behalf of everyone at Sauber Motorsport, we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
We have enjoyed working with you over the past 12 months and hope that we have been able to help you get to know our team in every detail… We hope that our work has helped you get to know us better and share our passion for to feel like Formula 1. Thank you for your input and support throughout the season!
We look forward to continuing all this in 2024, when we unveil our team’s new identity!..”
As you remember, the team will change title sponsor next season, it will be the Australian streaming platform Kick.com, but Sauber intrigued everyone by informing that the name of the team, which is listed on the official website as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber input sheet, subject to change.
