Carlos Sainz dreams of a car that can win

Last season, Carlos Sainz was the only one, besides the Red Bull Racing drivers, to become a Grand Prix winner, but in 2024 the Spaniard plans to challenge the championship leaders more often.

“If we talk about my greatest wishes this Christmas, I would ask for a car that will allow me to fight for victories in 2024,” Carlos said in an interview with DAZN. “However, only God knows whether we can win races or not.” That’s why I have to limit myself and only dream that I can start every weekend thinking that victory is an achievable goal.

This year Charles Leclerc and I were at about the same level in all races; we were only half a second apart. He had a very good qualifying time, but was also strong in the races, especially when he had to make up positions at the start and move forward.

In my opinion, Charles and I make a great duo. We get along well, we push each other and try to do our best, and I think this is an ideal option for Ferrari. There is a healthy rivalry between us, but the interests of the team always remain paramount. Personally, I always try to attack when necessary, but when necessary I know how to control myself.”
