Williams achieved seventh place in the Constructors’ Championship at the end of last season, their best result since 2017. Alex Albon is satisfied with both his performance and the way the team spent the race weekend.
Alex Albon: “I am proud of my achievements. I’m not the most arrogant person, but I’m willing to give myself credit. I feel like I had a very strong season, even if most of the races were not easy. Most of them were a struggle from start to finish, but I enjoyed them.
I had my strongest season in Formula 1 and the connection I had with the team helped with that. I feel like we were able to take almost all our chances in the races.
It’s a bit strange that many people think we lack stability, when in fact the team was stable all weekends. Rather, it was the car that was unstable.
Tracks like Monza and Las Vegas were with us. We knew we looked much better in cold weather than in warm weather. Other weaknesses of the car are windy weather and narrow roads. The team’s main priority for next year is to address these weaknesses.
But the most important thing is that we performed strongly as a team and took advantage of our opportunities. That’s why I think our seventh place is well deserved. When we could earn points with the car, we earned them. The opponents could have made a mistake with the strategy or something else and missed points, but we didn’t do that.”
