Christian Horner is not the only representative of British motorsport included in the traditional New Year’s prize list, approved by King Charles III, and who will once again receive a prestigious title.
Ron Dennis, former McLaren team boss who led the team for three and a half decades, will also be honoured. He will receive a knighthood not only for his contribution to the development of British motorsport, but also for other socially useful activities, in particular for charity.
Dennis currently works for Podium Analytics, a non-governmental organization dedicated to reducing sports injuries, and also works with a number of charities. He was awarded the title CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in 2000, but many believed and still believe that he deserves a higher distinction. Now this injustice has been corrected and in 2024 he will have the right to be called ‘Sir Ron Dennis’.
Also to receive the title of CBE will be Charles Gordon-Lennox, Duke of Richmond, who has organized and run the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed for many years.
