Charles Leclerc won the Austrian Grand Prix, although the win was not easy for him, and the Ferrari driver is very happy to have made it to the finish, although it was clearly uncomfortable to drive in the closing laps.
Charles Leclerc: “Great race! We were able to set a good pace, at the beginning of the race we had an interesting struggle with Max and the end proved extremely difficult due to problems with the accelerator. At low speeds it got stuck and didn’t reach zero position by 20-30%, and it was very hard for me. But I’m so glad we made it to the finish!
I knew my partner had retired due to technical issues, and oddly enough my problems started around the same time, so I was of course alarmed, but I knew my issues were not bike related. It was only in the accelerator, which somehow worked strangely.
Of course I needed this win because the previous five races were extremely difficult for me and for the whole team, but in the end we proved that we have a fast car. It’s just incredible, and now we have to attack until the end of the championship!
