International Automobile Federation (FIA) official site announced the departure of former Formula 1 race director Michael Masi.
As reported, the Aussie decided to return home to ‘connect with his family and take on a new challenge’.
The FIA thanks him for his commitment and wishes him the best for the future.
Masi took over as F1 racing manager in 2019 following the death of Charlie Whiting. Amid the scandal following last season’s final stage race in the United Arab Emirates, he quit his job.
Since the new season, Nils Wittich and Eduardo Freitas have taken on the role of race directors in Formula 1.
