For eight years, Rupert Manwaring was Carlos Sainz’s personal trainer and alternated between different teams with him. But now he has left Ferrari and switched to Red Bull Racing, where he becomes coach of Max Verstappen.
Carlos regrets this farewell: “2023 was the last year that Rupert worked in my team, and I cannot thank him enough for his years of support. Not only did we train together and fight for the same goals, but we also had a great time. I wish you all the best, Rupert!”
Manwaring also wrote a few words: “Thank you for eight wonderful years of friendship and fun.
I didn’t talk about it during our time together, but I learned as much from you as you learned from me. It was a great adventure. Thanks to you I met my wonderful wife, who became the mother of my daughter.
Thanks to you I have become a better coach. It has been a privilege to see you grow from emerging talent to Ferrari driver and race winner. I wish you all the best for the future.”
