Jordan would take Leclerc and Norris to his ‘dream team’

Since last spring, there have been discussions about the future fate of Sergio Perez, and there were reasons for it. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix was the last race he won, the last time he started from pole in Miami, after which his results fell sharply and the Mexican never again reached the level he was at at the beginning of 2023.

Few people now believe that Perez will last more than one season at Red Bull Racing, and Eddie Jordan, founder and former owner of the Jordan team, has named the driver he would like to see as Max Verstappen’s teammate.

This is Alex Albon, although he has already spent a season and a half at Red Bull Racing, and it was he who was once replaced by Perez. Both contracts formally expire at the end of 2024, although Williams obviously hopes to continue the collaboration with such an effective driver, and in the case of Perez, Red Bull hints that everything depends on his results.

“I have a soft spot for Albon,” Jordan said on the Formula for Success podcast. “I just think in a favorable situation he can really pull himself together.” I would like to see him get the chance to be Max’s partner at some point. I think he can surprise everyone enormously.”

Although Jordan sold the Jordan Grand Prix 19 years ago (the name changed first to Midland, then to Spyker, before becoming Force India, briefly Racing Point and now Aston Martin F1), he shared his thoughts on what his dream was. team would be like now.

“I am a big fan of Charles Leclerc’s talent and I would of course invite him to such a team,” said the Irishman, who celebrated his 75th birthday last year. – It’s hard not to pay attention to Lewis Hamilton, but time takes its toll and age is not in his favor, so I would continue the search. I wouldn’t invite Fernando Alonso or Lewis. I would choose Leclerc and Lando Norris. I would like my team to be like that.”
