There are reports in the Italian press about possible changes in the strategy department of the Ferrari team. Corriere dello Sport newspaper reported that Iñaki Rueda will no longer work in this department for the new season, although he will remain with the company – it is possible that he will be transferred to the division responsible for GT racing.
Rueda was one of the strategists of Scuderia for many years and in 2015 he headed this department, but last year he was replaced in this position by Ravin Jain, after which the Spanish specialist stopped going to races and worked only at the team base in Maranello. . Nevertheless, his influence on the work of the department remained very great.
For several seasons, Ferrari strategists have been criticized for controversial and sometimes downright wrong decisions – including in 2023, especially during the stages in Austin and Abu Dhabi. Rueda’s departure from the Formula 1 team signals continued personnel changes, which are reasonable to expect following a change in leadership.
Frederic Vasseur took charge of the team only a year ago and his main task is to return Ferrari to its previous position, as the last time the team won the Constructors’ Championship was more than 15 years ago, in 2008.
