Dakar: First exits, first injuries…

Not all teams will reach the finish of the Dakar Rally, this is inevitable and the first meetings have already started.

The two-wheeler category is already missing several motorcycle drivers, but there are also races among the teams competing on powerful SUVs, in particular the Uruguayan racer Patricia Pita has already dropped out of contention, together with the Chilean navigator Paolo Boggioni , who took part in a buggy with rear-wheel drive, produced by the South African company Century Racing.

And today it became known about the retirement of the young Spaniard Pau Navarro – yesterday, during the second stage of the rally attack, his mini SUV fell over and the driver injured his wrist.

“Pau Navarro suffered a wrist injury in yesterday’s accident. Unfortunately, this forced the young Spaniard to withdraw from the Dakar. Our entire team wishes him a speedy recovery,” said the X-Raid Mini JCW Team press service.

According to the results of the first stage, crew No. 230, consisting of Navarro and his navigator, the Portuguese Gonchalo Reis, showed the 34th time, and at the end of yesterday’s failure he was formally recorded as 35 hours late, which in in any case it made the continuation of the supermarathon pointless.
