With the change in engine regulations in 2026, the Aston Martin team will switch to Honda power sources. Preparations have already started; team leader Mike Krak spoke about the details of this process in an interview with Motorsport Magazin.
Mike Krak: “We first set up several working groups in different areas to divide the responsibilities. This happens every time you enter into a technical partnership.
These groups are already working, exploring different areas, exchanging experiences and conducting simulations. They keep each other informed of what’s going on with powertrain development on their side and chassis development on ours. This is a two-way process.
I cannot mention the number of employees already working on the 2026 car, but such work is already underway. The technical regulations for the chassis should be published in June 2024. Not all points are completely clear, so we are working on different scenarios, working with the information we have at the moment.”
