Last year, filming started for a feature film about Formula 1 with Brad Pitt. Filming took place during race weekends, but the film is being worked on even during Formula 1’s winter break.
Filming resumes next week in Daytona during IMSA testing. In addition, filming will take place during the 24 Hours of Daytona marathon from January 25 to 28.
Unlike filming on Formula 1 stages, filming in IMSA will take place during the official race sessions. Producers have entered into an agreement with the GTD team to help maintain the car, but it is unclear whether Brad Pitt’s character’s race car will be featured as an extra, or if any of the current GTD cars will be painted for the film .
Lewis Hamilton, one of the film’s producers, previously said the film would not see a wide release until 2025.
