Robert Schwartzman is back behind the wheel of Formula 1. On Wednesday, the young driver completed a day of testing at Mugello in last year’s Ferrari SF21.
The Scuderia’s press service did not disclose the details of the tests, but published several photos of Robert on the track. However, Italy’s Autosprint, citing its sources, said Schwartzman simulated work in Mugello over the race weekend.
In 2022, a rule appeared in Formula 1 according to which each team must hand over a car in Friday practice to a driver with no more than two Formula 1 Grands Prix twice a season.
Apparently Robert will be the driver who will call on Scuderia on Friday to work as part of the Grand Prix, so today’s testing can be considered one of the preparation phases. Italian journalists suggest that Schwartzman can train in France in the next phase.
This season Robert Schwartzman is Ferrari’s official test driver, helping the team on race weekends by testing the car’s settings on the simulator in Maranello.
