Haas technical director Simone Resta resigned and left the American team.
The Italian specialist came from Ferrari to Haas in 2021. At the Scuderia, Resta was responsible for chassis development from 2014 to 2017, then worked for a short time as technical director of Alfa Romeo/Sauber, after which he returned to Ferrari in 2019.
Haas had high hopes for Simone Resta’s invitation, but the results of the collaboration were unsatisfactory. Late last year, the team brought the updated car to the Austin stage, hoping that the new products would allow them to take a step forward and set the direction for development in 2024, but no progress was made.
Haas has not yet officially responded to Resta’s departure. Moreover, it is unknown whether he will return to work at Ferrari or continue his career at another team. According to rumors, Sauber/Audi may be interested in his services.
