Alex Albon’s contract with Williams runs until the end of 2025 and last year the driver repeatedly said he intends to complete it. However, ESPN says the reality is somewhat different from public statements.
Alex reportedly wants an early release from his obligations to the British team and is working with the managers to make this happen in order to leave Williams as soon as he receives an offer from another team.
According to ESPN, two Formula 1 teams approached him in 2023 with an offer to sign a contract, but Albon declined as he had a valid agreement with Williams.
If Alex manages to negotiate a renegotiation with his current team, he will become one of the key figures in the driver market in 2024.
