Aston Martin lured another important specialist from Red Bull Racing: the Hungarian engineer Andor Hegedus. In the Milton Keynes team he was responsible for organizing pit stops and coordinating the work of the mechanics involved in this important issue.
On his page on the business portal Linkedin, Hegedush announced that he will be working at Aston Martin from the start of the 2024 season. Interestingly, his Formula 1 career started in 2011 with the short-lived Russian team Marussia, after which he moved to Red Bull Racing.
The champion team is known for its precise and well-coordinated work at pit stops, while Aston Martin is still inferior in this area, but now Lawrence Stroll’s team has the right specialist tasked with solving this problem.
“The next chapter begins, and from now on I will wear the green uniform,” Andor wrote. “I am really looking forward to working as a project manager at Aston Martin.” Thank you all for your support!”
Hegedusch followed the example of Dan Fallows, who previously headed the aerodynamics department at Red Bull and took over as technical director at Aston Martin in 2022, after which the team has grown dramatically.
