We have talked repeatedly about Honda’s possible return to Formula 1 – rumored to have the Japanese automaker ready to buy Red Bull’s AlphaTauri team, making it a works team. However, the case should not be limited to one Honda.
Well-informed British journalist Joe Savard writes about another car concern, which is rumored to be considering the possibility of returning to Formula 1 after a long hiatus – BMW.
The German manufacturer is in talks with McLaren about cooperation in the joint development of road cars. According to Savart, the parties are also discussing the possibility of cooperation in Formula 1, as BMW is interested in competing on track with Mercedes, Audi and Porsche.
BMW last entered Formula 1 from 2001 to 2009 and supplied engines for Williams (2001-2005) and Sauber (2006-2009).
