The organizers of the Dakar rally attack reported the death of Spanish motorcycle racer Carles Falcon, who suffered an accident during the second stage of the competition.
“We received the news of the death of Spanish racer Carles Falcon with great sadness, after learning about it through his family,” organizers said in an official statement. – After 448 km of the second stage a fall occurred with serious consequences. Medical teams quickly arrived at the scene of the accident and immediately determined that the rider was in critical condition.
He was taken by helicopter to a hospital in the city of Al-Duwadimi, then to a hospital in Riyadh, and a few days later he was transported to Spain. But despite all the doctors’ efforts, the racer died from his injuries.
The organizers and participants of the Dakar extend their most sincere condolences to his family and friends.”

Falcon was 45 years old and was only participating in the ultramarathon for the second time.
