Carlos Sainz cheers for his father as he leads the Dakar

Carlos Sainz Jr. always said that he tries to be like his father, two-time world rally champion and four-time winner of the Dakar Rally, in everything.

Sainz Sr. is once again the leader of the general classification of the supermarathon, which runs through Saudi Arabia, or at least it was that way until yesterday, and the ninth stage of the rally raid is still in full swing.

It is worth emphasizing that the father of the Ferrari driver is already in his seventh decade, but he still manages to maintain excellent physical condition, which allows him to successfully cope with the difficulties of the Dakar – this year Carlos Sainz has already achieved four stage victories.

His son, a Ferrari driver, is currently in Spain preparing for the upcoming Formula 1 season, but Carlos Jr. shared a photo from last year on social media with the following comment:

“Memories of the 2023 rally attack – in the photo I am with the ‘boss’. Although we are not physically in Dakar this year, but at home, we support you at every stage of this competition. We are very proud of you as we see you continue to break barriers and surpass yourself as you maintain the lead in the toughest rally in the world. There are still a few days left!”

The popularity of the Dakar, as well as the attention of fans to both Carlos, is evident from the fact that this message from Sainz Jr. collected almost 250 thousand likes in less than a day.
