After three races of the season, Max Verstappen has one win and two retirements due to technical issues. Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko noted that Max is calmer than in previous years, he sees problems.
Helmut Marko: “Max has become much calmer. After his retirement in Australia he returned to the pits and we discussed everything calmly. However, we knew before the start that retirement was possible as the problems started in qualifying, so what happened was no surprise.
Max is a very emotional and passionate rider who always gives his opinion. But in my opinion he has become much calmer now than in the past.
Helmut Marko added that there is no guarantee that Max can remain calm if the reliability issues are not resolved soon: “If we don’t start winning soon, we might have the effect of a time bomb!”
