Sebastien Loeb has withdrawn from the battle for victory in the Dakar, the organizers of the rally raid report. At 132 km of today’s 11th stage distance he had to stop due to a defect in the triangular arm of the right front suspension.
Loeb and his navigator Fabien Lerkin lost more than an hour, but after that the crew was able to continue sailing. Sébastien has no intention of giving up and it seems he still has hopes of being on the podium tomorrow, but this will become clearer after the end of today’s stage.
According to information from Bahrain Raid Extreme, Loeb’s team, the suspension failure of the Prodrive Hunter with tail number 203 occurred as a result of a failed landing after a jump. However, the broken control arm was replaced thanks to the help of the crew of the Chinese team YunXiang China T1+, which drives the same SUV produced by Prodrive.
