Former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher thinks that Mercedes and McLaren have the best chance of challenging Red Bull Racing next season. As for Ferrari, Ralph does not see the Italian team among the contenders for the title.
“I deliberately did not include Ferrari among the contenders,” Ralf Schumacher shared his opinion on the Formula For Success podcast. “Maybe they get opportunities, but with their drivers you never know how they will behave. What I mean by this is that while leading a race, they can spin or crash into each other, and not necessarily into each other. Ferrari drivers make stupid mistakes, which often surprises me.
In my opinion, Frederic Vasseur is doing a good job. The team is becoming more and more united, making fewer mistakes and making excellent pit stops, but at the moment I don’t see them among the main contenders for the title. But it’s possible I’m wrong.
Let’s wait for the tests and the first two races. I think it is easier to assess the balance of power in retrospect.”
