Charouz’s Cem Bolukbashi will miss the Imola Formula 2 round this weekend with a broken rib.
A Turkish driver is involved in a serious accident while training in Formula 2 at the track in Jeddah. He was taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with a concussion, forcing him to miss the second leg of the season.
Bolukbashi got back behind the wheel for testing in Barcelona last week, where he was involved in a serious accident on day one. He had to skip the remaining two days of testing and return to Istanbul, where an additional medical examination revealed a broken rib in the rider.
“We found out last week that the back pain was the result of a broken rib,” Bolukbashi wrote on social media. “My treatment is still ongoing, so I won’t be able to race at Imola this weekend.
Despite the bad luck, I still have a long season ahead of me to reach my goals. I will make a full recovery and get back behind the wheel at the Tour of Barcelona.”
