Rosberg: Mick is not ready to move to the lead team yet

2016 World Champion Nico Rosberg commented on Mick Schumacher’s performance at the previous two rounds at Silverstone and Spielberg, in which the Haas driver earned points. Niko is happy with Schumacher’s progress, but thinks it is too early for the young driver to think about moving to a stronger team.

“Mick has been through a difficult period, but now we are all happy that he has made progress,” Nico Rosberg shared his opinion on Germany’s Eurosport. – In recent days I have not seen any criticism of him in the press.

It’s unbelievable how quickly things change in our sport – it only took him one race and a great fight with Lewis Hamilton to forget the past. All this should help Mick psychologically in the races to come.

However, I don’t believe he is ready to change teams. He needs time for further development – the last races confirm my words. Mick shouldn’t be in a rush to move to the top team. We saw with George Russell that three years at Williams helped him prepare for a move to Mercedes. You need not rush in such matters.
