Aston Martin confirms talks with Vettel

Sebastian Vettel’s contract with Aston Martin expires at the end of the season. Team boss Mike Krak confirmed that negotiations for a new deal have already started and he expects to continue his partnership with the four-time world champion in 2023.

Mike Krak: “We are in negotiations. Sebastian is very positive and constructive, so I hope we can continue our cooperation.

He has invested a lot in the team over the past two years. Perhaps he wants to get some of it back and not transfer the fruits of his labor to someone else who will use them. We are confident that we will succeed in the ongoing negotiations.”

Mike Krak added that neither Vettel nor his team-mate Lance Stroll have lost motivation due to the lack of results: “We have to take our hats off to our drivers for how they are handling the current situation and for their constructive attitude. None of them said a single bad word – nothing at all. We try to solve problems together and they give us very effective feedback.

Obviously in the current situation it is easy to be disappointed, but nothing comes close. Both Lance and Sebastian are very constructive at all briefings and there is no lack of motivation in their actions.
