At the end of last year, the FIA almost immediately opened and closed proceedings against Susie and Toto Wolff in connection with the possible transfer of confidential information. Formula 1 reacted negatively to such actions of the FIA and openly supported the head of the Mercedes team and his wife.
McLaren team boss Zak Brown expressed the hope that in the future the FIA and Formula 1 will put conflicts in the past and act in the interests of the sport.
Zak Brown: “When we talk about the FIA and Formula 1, we would like to see the relations between the parties develop in a common direction. Both parties want the best for the sport, and this is the best reason for rapprochement.
We were not involved in starting the investigation. Our team supports the F1 Academy and we are happy to be part of this project. I have known Susie for a long time and she is a very decent person. We have no worries.”
