George Russell spent the weekend skiing the slopes of the Austrian Alps at Kitzbühel, a world-famous winter sports centre.
It is clearly no coincidence that Toto Wolff, the head of the Mercedes team for which the British driver competes, is currently on holiday there with his family. But there were even more familiar faces in Kitzbühel – it turns out that Sebastian Vettel is now easier to meet there than in the Formula 1 paddock.
Since Toto is from Austria, Russell allowed himself to joke that he is now in the land of the Wolffs. But the German word Wolff means ‘wolf’, and the expression ‘In the land of Wolffs’ can also be read in another way: ‘in the land of the wolves’. For good measure, George even added an emoji in the shape of this beast’s head.
‘I’m in Wolff country! – George commented on several photos and shared them on social networks. – How wonderful it was to visit the ski area in Kitzbühel for the first time! I had a great weekend, learned a lot about this difficult sport and even met a familiar face!”
