“Formula 1” announced the signing of a 10-year contract to host the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid.
As stated in a statement from the F1 press service, the agreement will be valid from 2026 to 2035. Since 1991, the Spanish scene has been held in Barcelona.
The length of the route in Madrid will be 5.47 km. It will feature 20 turns, with an estimated qualifying lap time of 1 minute 32 seconds.
According to forecasts, the track will be able to accommodate more than 110,000 fans per day. During the first five years of the contract, it is planned to increase the capacity to 140,000 viewers per day.
The Spanish Grand Prix is expected to bring Madrid around 450 million euros per year.
