On Wednesday, the Formula 2 teams in Barcelona carried out a first run-in of the new generation of cars, which will be used from 2024 to 2026.
Each team had one car and twenty drivers already confirmed for the coming season took turns in the tests. Their main task was to assess the reliability and performance of key machine systems. No one was chasing record speeds, so the series’ press service did not publish the times shown on the Spanish track.
During six hours of testing, all teams completed a total of 649 laps or 3,018 kilometers.
“The main task was to have a clean and trouble-free session, and we succeeded,” said ART racer Victor Marten about the tests. “We developed a work plan for the day, which allowed us to evaluate the car’s handling in corners and its overall behavior.
Great to be behind the wheel again! The first impressions of the car are that it is not much different from last year, so I can use the experience gained earlier in the new season.
Everything went fine without any technical problems. A very positive start.”
