Ferrari announced the extension of the contract with Charles Leclerc. According to the new agreement, the Monegasque will continue to compete for the Scuderia after 2024. The team’s press office did not reveal the exact terms of the contract.
Charles Leclerc: “I was happy to know that I will continue to wear the Ferrari racing suit for several more seasons. I dreamed of playing for this team since I was three years old. I watched the Monaco Grand Prix from the window of my friends’ apartment in the corner of Ste. Always devoted and paid special attention to red cars.
Since joining the Ferrari Racing Academy in 2016, the team has become my second family. We have achieved a lot together over the past five years and fought despite all the difficulties.
I’m confident that better times will come, so I can’t wait to start the season, make further progress and be competitive in every race. I keep dreaming of winning the championship with Ferrari. I am confident that we will have great times in the coming years and that we will surprise the fans.”
Frederik Vasseur, team manager: “Charles’ connection with the Scuderia goes beyond the usual collaboration between driver and team. He has been part of the Ferrari family for eight years. His life values and the team’s values coincide, so the decision to expand the collaboration was very natural.
We know Charles’ ability to push himself to the limit and appreciate his exceptional ability when it comes to fighting on the track and overtaking in a race.
We are determined to give Charles a car he can drive to win. I know his determination and dedication; these qualities will help us achieve our goals.”
