The debut of the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar in endurance racing and participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans is scheduled for 2025, but testing of the car’s individual systems has already begun, although testing at Silverstone will be carried out for the time being on the AMR Pro chassis.
“We’re starting to develop some systems and we’re in the very early stages of testing,” Adam Carter, head of Aston Martin’s endurance racing program, told reporters in Daytona. “But we can already do the most important work on the software.”
Carter did not name the driver tasked with conducting the tests, only emphasizing that he is an experienced professional who has worked with Aston Martin for a long time. As the chassis for the LMH class sports prototype is still under development, testing will continue with the AMR Pro machine for the time being.
“We can do some pretty intensive testing because the platform itself already exists,” Carter added. “We have the opportunity to continue this work with full confidence and move quickly towards the goal. We have already drawn up an action plan and the tasks we will face during the tests are quite clear. This work will continue and will allow us to gather the necessary information as quickly as possible.”
