The Visa RB team (formerly AlphaTauri) announced the reinforcement of its technical staff by inviting experienced specialists.
Tim Goss, a former McLaren technical director who worked for the FIA in recent years, will join the team from Faenza. Goss has been promoted to chief engineer and will report directly to the team leader. He will start his duties in October 2024.
Guillaume Cattelani has been appointed deputy technical director. During his fifteen years in Formula 1 he managed to work for the Lotus and McLaren teams, and his last years were spent at Red Bull Technology.
Alan Permain, fired from Alpine last summer, has been promoted to race director.
Peter Bayer, Executive Director of Visa RB: “The appointments will be a major step forward for the team. Guillaume and Alan’s invitation will expand our car development capabilities and increase efficiency on the track.
Tim will be working with us in October. By doing this, we complete the formation of a structure that will enable us to take the next step towards the team’s long-term success.”
Laurent Mekies, Team Manager: “With the appointment of Tim, Guillaume and Alan, the team will gain a wealth of winning experience. I have no doubt that they will help us reach the next level in Formula 1.
We already have a strong and experienced technical team, but bringing on board highly skilled individuals like Tim, Guillaume and Alan will enhance our capabilities and help us meet the highest technical standards, both on base and on track.”
