Former technical director of the Benetton, Lotus and Renault teams Nick Chester took the same position on the Andretti Global project, saying in an interview with The Athletic that work is in full swing despite the lack of confidence that the project will happen.
Nick Chester: “This team wants to do everything right and win. This is the only real motivation for everyone in the project. Like I said, the resources the team has and the effort it will put in to win have made it very attractive to employees.
Without the support of General Motors, we wouldn’t have done half of what we have today. This is not a case of exchanging technical solutions with another team; we have one team where we are closely integrated with GM. Each party is focused on its own area and tries to achieve as much efficiency as possible. It creates a great atmosphere.”
