Valtteri Bottas will soon get personal use of the new Alfa Romeo Stelvio crossover in the most powerful Quadrifoglio version. According to the Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat, the keys to the car will be handed over to him on August 21 during the traditional duathlon, which the rider organizes at home in the town of Pajulahti.
As a driver of the Alfa Romeo team, Valtteri naturally drives Alfa Romeo cars off the tracks, and the Italian company has decided to supply him with another model that is about to enter the Finnish market. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio crossover is equipped with a 2.9 liter V6 engine with two turbines, good for more than 510 hp, and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
In the racer’s home country, such a version will cost 179 thousand euros, although the official prices for this car have not even been announced yet.
Ilta-Sanomat journalists took a similar crossover for a test drive and drove it for the estimated distance of a Formula 1 race, ie over 300km. Since the practical side of driving a car is important for an ordinary motorist, they immediately warned that the owner of the Stelvio Quadrifoglio would not be able to save on gasoline, which is now expensive (the price of a liter of 95th at Finnish gas stations in July is 2.3 euros): average fuel consumption turned out to be about 15 liters per 100 km.
And this with a moderate driving regime, since compliance with the allowed speed limit in Finland is strictly controlled by the traffic police, and the fines for violating it are simply monstrous. However, it is clear that the car has left a good impression overall, and there is no doubt that Valtteri will like it too.
