The day before the presentation of the new car, Haas F1 appointed reserve pilots for the 2024 season: Oliver Berman and Pietro Fittipaldi.
Berman is a student of the Ferrari Youth Academy; last year he took part in two training sessions behind the wheel of Formula 1 – in Mexico and Abu Dhabi, and then in the tests in November. This year he will drive the team’s main car during the first six practices of the season – in Emilia-Romagna, Spain, Great Britain, Hungary, Mexico City and Abu Dhabi.
Fittipaldi will combine his role as reserve driver with racing for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in the IndyCar Series.
Ayo Komatsuteam leader: “I am happy that Oliver and Pietro have become our reserve pilots.
Oliver did a great job for us last season and we look forward to giving him more time behind the wheel in 2024.
Pietro will be with us for a sixth season, which will provide continuity and help him contribute to our program. We are excited to have him full-time in IndyCar this season so he can do what he loves – racing – while still being with us as part of the Haas family.”
