“Formula 1” announced on its website the extension of the contract to host the stage of the World Championship in Japan on the Suzuka circuit until 2029 inclusive.
The Japanese Grand Prix of the 2024 season will take place in April, the stage will take place on the calendar between races in Australia and China. In recent years, the Japanese leg has taken place in the fall.
“Suzuka is a special track, so I am happy that Formula 1 will maintain a presence there at least until 2029,” said Stefano Domenicali, F1 president and CEO. “Our fans in Japan have a unique passion for Formula 1 and we look forward to working with the promoter to provide fans with the experience they deserve.”
The World Cup season begins in Bahrain at the end of February.
