Oscar Piastri was behind the wheel on Friday and today he was replaced by Rio Hirakawa, the team’s reserve driver, who combines collaboration with the Woking team in Formula 1 with performances for the Toyota factory team in endurance racing.
“First day on track in 2024,” the McLaren press office briefly summarized the results of yesterday’s work. – Oscar Piastri had a great day at the Circuit Paul Ricard testing the MCL36. And today Rio Hirakawa, our backup driver, will take the wheel.”
