The German press writes that Sebastian Vettel is considering returning to Formula 1. The four-time world champion retired at the end of 2022, but could start in 2025 as a replacement for Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes.
The publication F1-Insider literally writes the following about it: “Vettel’s return to Formula 1 is quite conceivable. He could follow in the footsteps of his idol Michael Schumacher, who parted ways with Ferrari after retiring and then returned to racing with Mercedes. A return seems a very attractive scenario to Sebastian.”
However, Mercedes chief Toto Wolff said last week about a possible contract with Sebastian: “I think he has decided not to return to racing. We communicate regularly, and the last time we spoke was yesterday. However, this was not a conversation about the possibility of playing for our team in the future.”
Nothing is known about Sebastian’s own reaction to the press releases, but this year we will probably hear various speculations about his possible return.
