At the presentation of the new car of the renewed team, representative Alessandro Aluni Bravi spoke about his expectations…
Q: Since we met in Abu Dhabi, there have been big changes in the team, it has a new style, a new color scheme…
Alessandro Aluni Bravi: Yes, our team has a new image, as we now operate under the name Stake F1, we are starting a new, very interesting period. The team will change in many areas this year. This partnership will help us reach new audiences and enable us to take an innovative approach.
Changes are also taking place in other areas: we are developing our structure and strengthening our staff. An exciting new era awaits our team.
Q: Will the team name change as the season progresses?
Alessandro Aluni Bravi: We will fully comply with all local laws. Where gambling advertising is prohibited we will use a different name.
Like last year, Kick is one of our main partners – the launch of the new car was broadcast live on Kick.com, our chassis is called the Kick Sauber, so where we can’t race like Stake F1, I use a middle name.
The name of a team in Formula 1 depends on many factors, including commercial partnerships. We announced the chassis name: Kick Sauber, and we have a new team style: Stake F1. Our new image is not that we are distancing ourselves from Sauber. No. We are part of the Sauber group of companies, we are a close group of people who work together, but in Formula 1 we come in with a new image. We are Sauber Group, but our Formula 1 team is Stake F1.
This is not just a commercial partnership, it is our approach to the world of Formula 1, where creativity, innovation and ingenuity are part of the marketing strategy.
Question: The arrival of a new partner and changing the color scheme will not make the car faster…
Alessandro Aluni Bravi: The beginning of a new era does not mean that we will immediately achieve better results, but everything we have done this winter gives hope for progress.
We have worked hard under the leadership of our new Technical Director, James Key, to develop the car in every area and improve every detail. But we are realists: we must understand what progress our opponents have made, and then assess the balance of power.
Q: This is your second year as a team representative. What did you learn last season? How does the team management structure currently work?
Alessandro Aluni Bravi: I still consider myself a beginner! Every year is an opportunity to gain new experience. It is a constant process that everyone in Formula 1 goes through. Our sport is very demanding, here you never stop learning.
The past year has been very important for me in my new role. I learned to work with the media and partners. CEO Andreas Seidl has helped lay a solid foundation and we have created an effective structure.
We have race director Heavy Puholar, sports director Beat Zehnder, technical director James Key. This structure is most suitable for our purposes.
Question: What are your expectations for this season?
Alessandro Aluni Bravi: We cannot name the specific result we are aiming for. It’s always difficult to talk about numbers, but our goals are clear: to get more out of the car and the team – in pit stops, in working with strategy, in all areas. The main goal is to achieve a better result than in 2023.
Last year we achieved ninth place in the constructors’ championship, now we hope for more. But we have to be realistic – there’s a long season ahead, it’s not just about being competitive at the start – we have to develop the car from January to December, give everything in every race and make the most of all the opportunities that arise occur. will arise as the season progresses. I am convinced that we will take a step forward this year. Time will tell how big it will be.
Q: Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou will spend their third season together. What do you expect from them?
Alessandro Aluni Bravi: We have a strong line-up of drivers, Valtteri and Zhou are already with the team for the third year and this stability is very important for us, especially during the transformation process.
We have complete confidence in our drivers and want to offer them a car that allows them to reach their potential.
Valtteri is a very experienced driver and makes a major contribution to our work on and off the track. Last year he was very fast in qualifying, especially in the latter part of the season. Now we have to translate the qualifying results into a high race pace.
Zhou surprised many, but not us. He is really talented and constantly improving. We have been following his growth for two years and this year we look forward to realizing all facets of his talent.
