Lewis Hamilton will leave Mercedes at the end of the season to join Ferrari. Often in such a situation the team bets on another driver and the outgoing driver is excluded from participating in technical briefings, but Toto Wolff assures that this will not happen in his team.
Toto Wolff: “As team manager, like all of us at Mercedes, I have always tried to take an approach that is as transparent and honest as possible. And nothing will change in this regard in 2024. We respect our approach and principles. I’m sure the racers will understand this.
As for the technical briefings, we will think about that later, but I am not worried about that at all. Some engineers leave us for other teams and the notice periods are sometimes only six months. I have no doubts about Lewis’s integrity when it comes to sharing information. The most important thing for us is to make sure we have a successful season – for Mercedes and for both drivers.”
