Fellows: We want the car to be more versatile

Aston Martin F1 Technical Director Dan Fallows talked about the key features of the new car, AMR24, highlighting that when working on it, the team’s engineers and designers tried to ensure that the car would work effectively on different circuits .

Then Fallows, technical director: “Even with stable regulations, there are countless opportunities to improve the machine. I’d say the AMR24 is a very significant upgrade over last year’s chassis, and even the cosmetic differences are quite noticeable.

We focused on all areas of aerodynamics and also worked on some chassis components. There are many new parts and we have been given a very high-quality basis for further refinement. The chassis design is new and the nose cone, front fender and front and rear suspension have also been updated. We want to be in the upgrade race this season and the AMR24 is designed for exactly that.

Another area we have paid special attention to is expanding the range of optimal machine settings. We tried to ensure that it could work effectively on tracks with a variety of functions and features. We want our racing car to be more versatile.

We believe that with the AMR24 we have an ideal platform for modernization, which we will do throughout the season, and that the new car will allow us to fight for high results throughout the championship.

This is the first car to be built at Aston Martin’s new technology campus in Silverstone, and that’s a big deal too. Now here, at the team base, we have all the necessary production equipment that we did not have before.

All offices of the engineering department are located here and specialists from the different divisions can communicate much more effectively during the work process. This allowed us to act more coherently and coherently, and we hope that it has allowed us to build a faster car.”
