Last year the Ferrari team achieved only one victory in Formula 1: Carlos Sainz finished first in Singapore. His teammate Charles Leclerc expects the team’s results to be much higher in 2024.
When asked at the presentation of the new SF-24 car whether he would be satisfied with the season if he achieved two or three wins, Charles replied: “No, that is not enough. I want to win as many races as possible and at the end of the year we will count how many there will be.
It’s too early to make predictions, because only after the first race of the season will we know how competitive we are. Of course the goals depend on our form, but second or third place is not enough for me. I want to win as many races as possible.”
When asked whether Max Verstappen’s records give him motivation or put extra pressure on him, Leclerc replied: “No pressure. As for motivation, I’m always extremely motivated, so it’s very difficult to be more motivated. I am very motivated and hungry for victories.
I didn’t get a win in 2023, so I can’t wait to be back on top of the podium with Ferrari.”
