Red Bull Racing has dominated 2023 and many experts and fans are confident that the team will maintain its dominance in the new season. Chief designer Adrian Newey said at the presentation of the RB20 that the car behaved as expected during the run-in at Silverstone, but urged not to rush to conclusions.
Adrian Newey: “We have to keep attacking. There is no doubt that the results tightened up at the end of last season, but Max has done an excellent job. We had to work a lot in the winter.
Is what we have done enough? Who knows? This is the whole peculiarity of Formula 1. After the run-up to Silverstone we got a rough idea of what we were doing. As far as I can tell, the car performed as expected, but that doesn’t guarantee anything.
Maybe some teams have managed to take a bigger step forward than us. We’ll have to wait and see.”
